Ok, so, I am now able to download books from bookshare.org. I know I can search for the book/periodical I wish to read, but what is the next step? I downloaded something from bookshare.org which will help me read the book or something...I'm actually not quite sure what it does. So, my basic questions are: what do I do when I find something I wish to read? How can I ensure I can put the item on my BrailleNote? I'm going to play around w/the site and see if I can figure it out, but thought I'd see what you all, all of you bookshare.org members have to say...thanks!!!

One of the things you downloaded is the unpack program. You need to unpack the books before you can read them. If you have keysoft 5.0 or heigher on your BrailleNote, I believe that you'll be able to unpack them on there. so you can active-sync or use a compact flash card to transfer them. You can't play the daisy format on the BN, though. hth. i love bookshare, and would be happy to help you out if you have anymore questions or whatever.

well the thing you put on your puter was probably the victor reader for the daisy books. them wont work on the braille note. for the braille note you want the brf books. and since i use dsl now and if i want books, i just download the brf format books, and then use the active sync to copy them to my braille note from the puter.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. It is easy to use bookshare.org, and I can definitely see it being worth my while to have registered!!! I certainly wish I had KS 5.0 or higher...I'm trying to get that from my state agency which serves the blind...anyway, thanks again for the help!!!
